SO I read the FAQ, and am wondering if there is any further update on when we might see ethernet upgrades?

Good question. I don't know if that's planned for 1.1 or not, but Hugo has (in the past) mentioned that ethernet/usb upgrades might be a future possibility.

This isn't in the 1.1 feature list, but it's possible that the car player may get this for free due to the common codebase with another product. If that happens then it could well make 1.1.

Hi, I've only been reading this board for about a month, but several people have mentioned several other products that the empeg team is working on. I know of the RioReceiver already, but I was wondering if there is any information on the web or something about these other projects. This post by Rob says there will be a new home product from Sonicblue, and another post in the same thread alludes to a new car product. This post discussed a "really big project" that empeg is trying to finish by August, which may or may not be the same as the to things I've already mentioned. Now Rob mentions another product with a common codebase to the empeg that might come out around the same time as version 1.1. Am I looking in all the wrong places, or are these "secret" products that the empeg people occationally drop hints about? What is known about these products?

I'm pretty sure the rioreceiver is upgradable over ethernet - so Rob might have been referring to this in his latest post.

Actually the rio reciever is clever than that as it gets it's software every time it boots up from the PC streaming MP3s to it so to upgrade the software all that is needed is to put new software on the pc and no need to download it to the rio reciever.
