I've stumbled upon an interesting phenomenon...

If I copy any text from this page: http://www.toyzdollz.com/fisherprice/boxplaysets.htm

I can't paste it into the body of an email in Mail, whether it's a plain text or Rich email.

I can however paste the text into the subject or other header field. I haven't ever noticed this on any other web site's content.

I'm using Safari 4 beta (5528.16) and Mail 3.5 - I'd be curious if anyone else with Mac OS would be able to test this out and let me know what version of Safari/Mail you're using.

This is broken for me as well, it was one of the quirks I noticed when using Safari 4 Beta.

Mail:Version 3.5 (930.3)
Safari:Version 4 Public Beta (5528.16)

If it's stopping you writing emails in Comic Sans, that's arguably a feature wink

Cool. I'll give that update a week or two to simmer in the hands of others. Can't afford any more downtime on my primary machine if things aren't running smoothly.

I just updated to 10.5.7 and the new Safari beta. The issue is still present.

Mail version 3.6 and Safari 4 beta 5528.17

Oddly, this is no longer working for me either. It's possible it worked with Mail 3.6 and the older Safari 5528.16, as I didn't pull down 5528.17 until later in the day.

My guess is that 10.5.7 may have installed an older version of Webkit which didn't have this issue. The new Safari, obviously, updating it to the newer revision, which like the one in the last beta, has the issue.
