I figured some of the new dads here would get a kick out of this.

When we go grocery shopping we give our daughter, who is now 21 months old, a lemon to hold, a task she has been doing for some time now and quite well. Occasionally she gnawed at them a bit, nothing more then nibble the nub off. Well currently she must have a molar coming in as today she ate through the skin and some of the flesh. The tang of the lemon not bothering her.
Weird kid, must get it from her father :-)

She must be tough I would think a tooth coming through and the acid would sting

Heh. Kids are certainly a great source of entertainment.

Mine's not teething yet, but she did try "solid" food for the first time last week.

Be careful not to let her get in the habit of eating lemons. It will eat the enamel off her teeth. No so big a deal yet, but when those adult teeth come in...

I guess my wife should worry. She eats lemons all the time, and loves straight lemon juice as a drink

One of my nieces first solid food was a hot pickled chilli, she didn't even sweat about it.

My son (14 mo) loves my chilli-con-carne. I make it a bit milder than we would have it (I like spicy).

As far as teething goes, he's got 8 front teeth (4 top, 4 bottom). I don't know when the rest will be turning up...

Adult food is good, we only bothered with baby food for no 1, 2 & 3 have been fed whatever we were eating. Chicken thigh bone to chew on is good at teething time.

Ain't that the truth! Try and catch some of the facial expression they make when they first try solid foods with flavor. Their eyes really light up.

Yep - it makes life so much easier just making one set of meals. If you start them eating everything they never learn not to.
