... as well as direct entry of numeric frequencies for the radio tuner. Mark1 owners know that. Also, you select radio station numbered presets with these digits. Oh, and when naming a preset or performing a fuzzy search for songs with numbers in their titles, the numbers are used.

And Doug, you don't have to use 1.1 to cycle between search modes. 1.0x has search/append already, 1.1 just adds "insert".

hmm... Year?, Artist name such as 10cc?, Track names like 2112 etc?
OK, so Year isn't that useful but someone probably uses it. For the others I would say they are used quite a lot.

For anybody who has this remote (Kenwood RC-600)... I have made a keypad overlay that can be attached to the remote, with the keys re-labeled with the empeg-specific commands.

It's neatly done on a color laser printer, but the application of it is crude -- it just goes over the top of the keys, attached with clear tape or possibly rubber cement. I have them in nine different background colors with colored text appropriate for each background.

If anybody would like a page with nine keypad overlays on it for this Kenwood remote (see msaeger's picture above), drop me an email or a "send private" with your postal address and I'll put one in the mail to you.
