Meaning that they are hanging by their ears and not their feet.
Now I ask, Would Abby have made that mistake?

I haven't seen the episode yet, but I guess it depends on wether they're supposed to be resting or flying...

It's possible that she just hung them the way they came from the store. i.e., the mistake wasn't hers, but rather, the manufacturer's.

I'd come closer to accepting that her dark side was responsible for torturing those poor paper bats.

Except, Abby doesn't have that kind of a dark side.
