Hi all, For those of you who have enjoyed the PaulWay Mixes in the past, I haven't been idle. The new-but-still-in-a-temporary-location site is: http://mabula.tangram.dnsalias.net/mixes/There's chillout, trance, goa/psy, new music, old classics, and even some new CC-licensed mixes! As usual, email me or drop me a line here if you want to be in touch - I can't say I've read the BBS very often but try to I'll hang around a bit more. Have fun, Paul

Awesome. I've fallen a ways behind, time to download your newer work and take a listen.

Trying to torrent download 57 and 59 but have only got to about 2%.
Are you seeding them? The peer list shows 1 seed on internode (Australian ISP for the US guys). uTorrent seems to think it's in the US though. It has 100% but my client can't seem to download.
Any ideas?

Hrm, thanks for the reminder, I'm not seeding them like I used to. Looks like the torrent client on my NAS broke down at some point. I also only have up to 52.
I'll look to get mine fixed this weekend to return a US seed to the pool.

My post was directed more at Paul actually, but either way works. Both torrents are still sitting at 1.8% and 1.9%. I don't download 24/7 due to peak/off peak quotas I have on my ISP but that shouldn't be an issue.

I'd love to get some permanent seeds somewhere else than on the end of my ADSL link I've upped the bandwidth limit to 20kbit here so that might help, but I'm not seeing any clients connecting to the later torrents. I've got about four clients connected, though, so it does seem to be working... Have fun, Paul

I have a _very_ high bandwidth server, with enough space (what, about 2-3GB total for these?). But it is only permitted for use with private trackers, not open ones.
On the other hand, it also has direct HTTP download capability, with no real restrictions. Dunno if/how that might help here.

At about 18% and 14% now, so it is getting somewhere - just quite slowly for a <100MB torrent (I often get 10-12Mbit/sec speeds). I'll just keep letting it run - no rush. I'm only ever seeing the one IP from internode though which is you I'm guessing.
20kbit/sec is pretty slow though. 2kByte/sec. I just force started it now since I'm in peak time and I'm seeing 20kByte/sec (i.e. more like 200kbit/sec). Maybe that's what you meant Paul?
Could one of those Megaupload type sites be the way? The free versions won't max out internet connections, but do work OK.

mlord: All up the mixes are about 12GB so far. Personally I like using BitTorrent, because then I can provide some of the upload capacity, and I'm less dependent on other people for everything. Whatever you can supply would be appreciated :-) If you want to make them available as HTTP downloads, let me know the URLs and I'll post them too. Shonky: You'll at least be familiar with the problem of having an Australian internet connection I get 1Mbit/sec upload speed and I give the torrents about a tenth to a fifth of that, so regular posts, other torrents, etc. don't get slowed down too much. I'm also on one of Internode's new 'double-dipping' plans - I figure they offered 150GB/month so they could get people to switch over to them, rather than not getting to charge for lots of upload traffic now that BitTorrent is more popular. So keeping within my traffic allocation is now a bit more critical with things seeding constantly. If I can get a couple of people here to keep seeding as well, I've no doubt we can get a good aggregate bandwidth Have fun, Paul

Yes I have about 14-15Mbit/s down and about about 900kbit/s up. Well the two I was downloading finished today. I can leave them up for a while at least. My normal rule of thumb is to at least upload twice what I downloaded. So far I'm at "0 bytes" for both so could take a while... Only problem with something like this is I don't see too many more people downloading over time. This is kind of where torrents don't quite work the best.

mlord: All up the mixes are about 12GB so far. The problem is getting them from your machine to the server. Oh, well, I imagine things will settle down after the initial rush there. Cheers

I'm not seeing much happening on the higher numbered mixes, got 52 but don't have anything for 57 or 59. I'm seeing some upload traffic on a few of the lower numbered mixes.
Also on one of Internode's new 'double-dipping' plans.

I have 57 and 59 seeding and forced to run 24/7 ignoring my schedule (since my ISP doesn't count uploads it doesn't cost me anything). However both are still showing 0 bytes uploaded.

I'm seeding as hard as I can out here, but apart from a few staples (why does the Infinity Mix get downloaded so often?!) nothing recent is uploading. Rod, mlord, how are you going? Shonky, which mixes are you seeding?
(edit) Time to fix my 'how many seeds and downloaders does this torrent have' code on the new website?
I think I need to redo my torrent files to include the publicbt tracker and finally drop my now dead private tracker. Will let you know when this happens so you can download the new torrent files.
Have fun,
Paul

mlord: well, I'd be very grateful if you wanted to make that server be another seed for any and all mixes you want to :-)
Thanks in advance,
Paul

I'm seeding 57 and 59 only. They are the only ones I'd downloaded so far. Haven't even had a chance to sync them across to my player yet. Still at 0 bytes today. I'm seeing zero peers and zero seeds too according to utorrent. I'm not 100% sure what the numbers in brackets mean but I think they mean they're out there but for some reason not available to me.

Hmmm how do you make an image actually appear at a reasonable size. Right click Open in new tab works in Chrome...

Stuff like that often means that your client software is behind a firewall, and you haven't set things up to make it "externally visible."

It's externally visible as far as I'm aware I can make. Both TCP and UDP ports are forwarded through. uTorrent says my connection is all good. Quick google tells me: The number inside the parenthesis is the total number of seeds/leeches (or peers) that are known to have a part (or all) of the file of interest (the swarm).
The number outside the parenthesis is the number of seeds/leeches you are connected to.
So I'm not connected to them but I don't know why not.

I'm still not seeding what I have at this point. Migrating off my old NAS to the new one is taking longer then expected. Once I get it going, I'll report back what else I see out there.

Anyone else have 100% copies of the following? Looks like I only have ~99% of these, and the peers are all reporting the same:
23 - Supersonic 2 160kbit.mp3 26 - A Laser Through Smoke 160kbit.mp3 29 - Linux Conf Toast Night Mix 1.mp3 29 - Linux Conf Toast Night Mix 2.mp3 29 - Linux Conf Toast Night Mix 3.mp3
Also sitting at 0% on 26 - A Laser Through Smoke 80kbit.mp3
Beyond those few, I'm 100% on everything else now.

23, 26 & the 29s are currently not available from Paul's new site (HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden).
The files from the old site are different but there are some peers still seeding them at 99%.

The files from the old site are different but there are some peers still seeding them at 99%. I've had 100% of all the (higher bit) mp3s up for a couple weeks - except 23, 26, & 29s. I'm not seeing much action on them, though. Only a few have gone over 1.0 share ratio, and only 11-Telekinesis 1 has gone over 2.0. -jk
