I'm just about order the Multiroom+ 4x4 HDBaseT, lots of positive reviews about and they seem to be good at support. Any compelling reason not to buy? Is there another product I should be looking at?

Looks pretty neat. The only thing I see going against it is that you need 4 ethernet (well one for each remote device) all the way to the HDanywhere and all your sources (which have to be in the same place - not a big deal since that'd be common). i.e. you can't put it in a server cupboard under the stairs or something like that unless that's where you keep all your sources.

I presume that's OK with you?

Edit: I'm guessing they're kinda expensive too?

8x8 matrix + full extender kit is £6,500. The 4x4 kit is little more affordable at £1,500. If you just want a 4x4 matrix then that's only £350.

Looks like quite a nice product.

Sources will be located alongside the server, the house is fully wired. It's definitely expensive but I couldn't find anything cheaper. OK I'll go with it thanks.

Right but you need four separate ethernet runs where the matrix box lives. If you've wired your new place with multiple runs you're OK to go.

I don't think I would have ever thought to run more than a couple of connections to each location (and in particular to where most of my AV gear lives). I'll certainly try to remember that in the future though since I can see a future with something like this.

The hdanywhere box will live in our plant room, this is where the satellite and terrestrial TV, internet etc all come in, every cat5 cable is routed back to there. I think there are around 40 runs altogether.
