My dad bought a few bits of metalwork tools/lathe accessories. Included in the box of goodies are some tools that he cannot identify. Knowing how widespread the knowledge base here is, I wondered if anyone can tell me what the items 1-5 are in the link? Any help appreciated!

Number 4 looks like some kind of dividing head, but that would be used for a mill, not a lathe.

That's all custom made stuff for making something. Unless you're making that same thing, it's probably not wildly useful. My mill similarly came with a bunch of strange created things.

Something might be made of that rotary table, tho.

3) offset tail stock

Used for turning tapers.

Never saw one like that before. I suppose the offset combined with the rotary crank could be used for ornamental turning.

#1 looks like a knurling tool, but a strange one.

#3 is definitely a rotary table for a mill, I suspect the cone in it that looks like a tail stock part is actually just used for centering the tool.

I'd say these are definitely for machining metal, not woodworking.
