I'm thinking something along the lines of Gnaphosidae maybe?

Location: Seattle, Ballard.

Definitely not a Wolf spider, as some of the comments at that website suggested. This (attached) is a Wolf spider. This particular one I named Arnold, he was about two inches from toe to toe. Wolf spiders are nice to have in the house, they don't bite, they don't spin webs, they capture their prey by running across the wall amazingly quickly. Fascinating to watch. They are known here colloquially as "Picture Spiders" because they hide behind pictures in quite shallow spaces.

Arnold died a few months ago, and so far no replacements have moved in.
