I use version 1.02 or 1.03, I can't remember, but I find that the emplode software will freeze upon Synch if I take too long to move files over, make changes OR try to move too many files/make too many changes. Is this a known thing? It is really frustrating when i am thinking about where to put things and move some songs around, make tons of changes, and then when I synch, I get the initializing player screen. I have let the player initialize all night and still no dice, so I know it is frozen. I see in Win2k task manager that the program isn't responding either. Any fix for this?

As far as we knew, Emplode has been pretty stable in the most recent incarnations. So if you can reproduce a bug, it's worth getting details on it for reporting.
First: Make sure you're running the latest version (1.03 as of this writing) of both Emplode and the player software.
Next, before you sit down to do a big operation on Emplode, activate the logging feature.
Finally, if Emplode crashes, zip up that log file and send it to support. ___________

I have done everything stated. I upgraded to the very latest versions of everything and loaded the developer image. I got the log files and after letting the Empeg sit for about 10 minutes (connected to the computer and emplode open) and remembered I wanted to turn on the HD indicator. I did that, then hit synch, and the emplode froze. I looked at the log, and it states that there is no player connected to the system...along with other stuff I don't really understand. But the main error is somehting to the effect of: "hmmm...seems as though the player is not connected" shutting down.
I will send the log files if requested. Let me know.
Thank you,
Jason

Have you actually contacted the empeg support team directly about this ?

FWIW, this appears to have just happened w/my 2.0b7 install. I'm synching about 2GB worth of MP3s (off a Jaz drive). I've done this multiple times already with 2.0b7 without incident so I'm not sure what's up. I didn't realize there was a logging feature - whoops. I'm not sure if I should reboot the player or not at this point (but then is there any choice) ... there probably isn't any way to revert so I will most likely remove the items I added and start over.

Auuuugh! Mistake, I suppose. I rebooted, it came up fine, but when I went to connect via emplode, the display is now showing "synchronising" again only I'm not synchronising.

Nope. All of these messages appear harmless. The reiserfs warning is fine -- it's not reiserfs, so it won't mount.
The 0xC....2 error is ENOENT -- you don't have a tags file. It should be rebuilt when the player starts.
The failed to seek to offset is also fairly common...

This is to be expected. The database wasn't rebuilt at the end of the last sync. Emplode has to trigger a rebuild before it can download it. This results in the "synchronising" screen appearing.

Got it. Makes sense now. I wound up needing to fsck the drives (with the swap on and all that). After that, worked like a charm.
