Say you are replacing the second disk:
- First copy content of your /drive1/fids directory to PC. You will find a number of methods on this board (displayserver seems to be the most popular). I personally prefer ftp (I run only client on empeg and server on PC - I find it easier than the other way around). It does require a bit of Linux/Unix knowledge, but again, the search of the board will unearth useful tips.
- Install the new disk as if the old one was never there.
- Copy content of /drive1/fids back.
- Delete /drive0/var/database, run the player to rebuild it.
- Just in case, make a token change in emplode and sync to rebuild the database again and store it.
Mind you, I have never actually done this, but sounds reasonable...
Of course, if you have all your MP3s on PC, with correct tags and in the structure you like, you might choose to simply delete everything from the player and do one BIIIIIG sync. However, this way you will lose your secondary playlist structure, if you have one.
Good luck!
