A long awaited piece of software has arrived. Remote control software (you know, IR remote control) for the iPAQ. And for those who are a little sceptical the range according to the page is 3 meters, realisticly I have gotten it to work at 2 meters myself. Your mileage may vary. Version 1.0 had only a set of preset remotes you could choose from, version 1.1 also has a learn feature. I registered it today (only 15 $ which is not bad imho). Only one but, their download page pointed to the 1.0 version (might be just an oversight on their part). Still with version 1.1 we could have a new option on the remote front .

Hmm looks like it was my ISP's proxy that gave me a stale file. Downloaded it again and got the right file now. Can't wait to learn it my Empeg remote.

Hmmm having said that it is not as easy it seems. It learns the commands but the empeg does not recognize them from the iPAQ.
