Check the following:
1) You are running Windows 98 or Windows 2000 rather than 95 or NT4, right?
2) The USB cable has worked correctly in the past? (i.e., you know it's good and the software drivers for it are functioning, you can use other USB devices without trouble)
3) You performed the upgrades in the following order:
- Upgrade Emplode to 10a, but don't run it yet. (i.e., you downloaded, unzipped, and installed the
10a version of Emplode.)
- Use the 10a Empeg Upgrade Tool (which gets updated along with Emplode) to update your Empeg Car to version 10a consumer via the serial cable. (i.e., you downloaded
this file and used EmpegUpgrade.exe to send it to the Empeg.)
4) You rebooted the computer and the Empeg after the upgrades.
5) The Emplode software has been configured to use the USB cable instead of the serial cable.
