Just got an empeg MKII about two weeks ago. Seems that I have developed two lines near the middle of the screen that are darker/black down the entire unit. The pixels are still lit, just not as well as the rest of them. Anyone have any inside on how to fix without replacing the display?

Are these lines horizontal or vertical? If they are horizontal, they are 50w filament heaters for the screen. They are normal. To make sure, maybe you could post a pic?

Not quite 50w (now that *would* cause heat problems!)

There are 8 filaments at about 5 pixel spacing across the screen, and it is normal for a slight brightness difference to exist under the lines - this is just the way VFDs work.

Should have mentioned that...They are Vertical. I know that the Horizontal are normal, but these are definitely not. I will try to post a picture tonight (US EST).
