I'm currently working on converting libvorbis to fixed point arithmetic.
I've managed to get all the decoding after the MDCT reverse transformation
into 24-bit fixed point, including the windowing.

Errr, Russell King is not from ARM, he's the ARM-linux supremo (sort of alan cox for ARM, but not welsh).

I would suspect that he'd release it open-source, as that's what he's into. If such a thing comes out and is stable, I suspect that the empeg would get it fairly soon afterwards.

I saw arm in his email and assumed he was an employee of ARM. It will be nice to have ogg support in the future!
