Hi Guys,

Disaster has struck. I have managed to buy a car without a DIN slot - doh! It is a current model BMW 5 series. Has anyone got any ideas of how and where I can install my empeg?

Please help me - I can't stand going cold turkey - a car without an empeg - aaaarggghhhh!

Cheers

John Aylward

Locate a local install shop which specializes in custom installations. You'd be surprised, the ingenuity of installers...

Practically all car dashboards can be modified to fit a Din slot. Go to a good car audio dealer and he should be able to help you out.

Several people in the past have linked me to Crutchfield, claiming they have many adjustments for dashboards in stock. Maybe you should try your luck there. i would be very surprised if your dash was not adjustable.

Except that Crutchfield doesn't ship to the UK. And I'm not sure if they'd have a dash adapter for the very-latest model of BMW or not.

Hi John,

I've just been looking at the Autoleads website, and they have three different adapter kits for your 5-series model.

The only caveat is that you must not have the multi-function steering wheel in your car. If you do, then it looks like it's game over.

As others have suggested, you would be well advised to ask the advice of a good car audio shop. Alternatively, you could always call Autoleads on 01420 476 767, and ask to speak to their technical department. I am sure they would be able to give you some advice.

Andy.
