As to why AUX in is selectable at home, it really shouldn't be. Good point.
It's still in v2.00b3, although it doesn't serve a purpose.
Hold on a second. I know that some people on this BBS did build boxes around a docking cage, but feeded power through the 12V input, not the cage. This was to still be able to use different EQ/volume at home and in the car. If AUX-IN was removed at home, those people wouldn't be able to use the empeg as preamp/EQ anymore (what at least I do). I would recommend to use a tuner module for this differentiation nowadays, though (I switched to this method recently).
