As well as having the 'details' view in emplode to list track info, how about a 'properties' box?
This would be a floating tool box with all the fields displayed in a compact format so that any selected track has it's info diplayed within.

I guess I got tired of having to scroll across the list of tracks to see info.

Additionally, you could alter the track details right there instead of going into a separate modal popup. Undo's might be a little trickier or have to be handled differently.
