Hi all,
this morning on the way to work I was listening to 2.0b3 and all of a sudden midway through a PWEI track it started playing it backwards.
This was, as you can imagine, pretty funny and nearly caused me to have an accident...
Anyone else seen this??
Cheers,
Paul.

I was playing a tune yesterday morning, and when it finished I hit the left arrow to play it again - this time it sounded like a harsh scratching effect - similar to a tv channel that doesn't have reception. I've tried to replay the song a few times since then and it still sounds like hell - same harsh sound - it seems as if the mp3 file is now damaged.
Have you tried to play that song again since the 'backward' incident? If so, does it sound ok?

I haven't found any that play backwards yet. I've had a couple play extremely slowly and a couple with kind of rasping noises in. I've also got loads of tracks which I know are VBR but the player thinks they're Fixed Bitrate so the timecodes are completely up the wall. I'm aware there are other people who are in the same boat where this is concerned. I think I read in another thread that this can be caused by the encoder that Musicmatch (& possibly others?) uses. I'm waiting to see if the guys can do anything with either emplode or the player software to eliminate this problem. I know that strictly speaking it's an encoder problem but I didn't have a problem with these files in 1.03 . Marcus (beaker)

Well I did try again, mostly because it was so funny... but it didn't happen again.
The majority of my files are ripped with CDDA Extractor & LAME @ 250VBRwHQ

I have a tune that consistently plays at double speed ( see here). The 'sudenly broken tune' is probably result of experimental normalization code discussed in several threads here. Dragi "Bonzi" Raos
