I know there's now support for "favourite visuals" lists, but I think this is still relevant.

Finding the visual I want in the menu is often difficult (is it Abstract, 3D, or Soundplot?), but I can usually remember the names of the best (IMO) ones; IWBNI if we could type a visual's name to access it.

The way I see this working is that I press Search on the remote, then press Visual, changing the search screen to an alphabetical list of visuals. I can then type letters or press Left or Right to scroll, just like searching by name, and pressing OK switches to the new visual.

This would certainly help passengers, who know what their favourite visuals are, but struggle to find them.

Not a bad idea. Easiest thing would be to add a menu (at the same level as the Soundplot etc. menus) called "Alphabetical".

Returning to this old thread, it occurred to me that this might be a good use for press-and-hold on the Visuals menu item.
