It looks that the previous unit in the dash has been sightly bigger than empeg. The edge around empeg doesn't look very nice. I think you should do a little sanding and laquering on the wooden panel to make this edge look like rest of the panel.

Thanks for the feedback. You are right, the old unit was a bit bigger. I have an escutcheon to try and cover the gap, but it is a bit sloppy. I'll fix it up and repost!
