Anybody have the Red display in an Audi, and could share some photos?`

It looks great, but i'm kinda lacking in night shots.. sorry.

I will get a digital camera (not borrowed) one of these days.

You're also lacking in "L's" :) (Look at the URL marker)

Nice pictures. Very nice considering it's not even your camera. The stock facia works really well with the Jetta console.

Maybe someday I'll actually get all my stereo gear into my car... You don't want to know how many weeks this install has been going....

I don't have any picks, but I can tell you I have a 97 A4 and IMHO the red looks terrible. First, the red empeg display is not great to began with because it's very dim - the light emitted from the VFD is a greenish-white and doesn't work well with a red filter. Second, I don't think the red empeg display matched the audi red well at all. I'm sticking with the blue display, or maybe the green.

Just my 2 cents.

Hi,

Same goes here. The red isn't Audi red, it's more BMW red (more orange-ish than red really).

I'm sticking to the blue as well.

Here is a link that was posted in an Audi form I frequent of the red install in a TT. I also own a TT and, pending my question about XP support, I am going to get an Empeg and do the red thing also!

I hate to be the one to break it to you, Harry, but... getting an empeg may not be that easy to do any more.

Why would you say that? Sounds like almost any other stereo install. Maybe the most complicated thing would be adding an amp.

They've been EOL'd and the recent clearance prices have pretty much eradicated any remaining stock. If you want to get one, you'd better try right now. There are some reports that there have been some ``found'' in the warehouse, but they won't last long, I imagine, if there were any to begin with.

Ah.. ok, thanks for the explaination. I thought you meant my TT installation wouldn't be an easy thing.

I did order one a few hours ago and it did say "out of stock" but the email invoice I got said that this "really" meant that they haven't shipped yet and will soon.... guess we'll see.
