I finally got around to posting some photos of my Empeg installation.

http://home.maine.rr.com/candjbutler/index.htm

As you can see from the first photo I haven't added any trim material between the sled and the dash.
However, I did find a black poly binder that should work quite well. Thanks for the idea Tony!

SWEET! Now I see what you mean about not being able to use an instal kit. The Odyssey is the same way but at least it has a ridge so you can bastardize an install kit for it. I always loved the big obnoxious digital display in the Insight. *thinking* I wonder if I could swap it into my car. Love the amp mount with wiring. And big kudos for Zappa on the stereo. Right now there is a tie for most played on mine between San'Berdino and Muffn Man.

No prob. Make sure to use a very straight metal ruler, and a very sharp X-acto knife when cutting. (And cut on top of something that you don't mind being full of slices, like a piece of scrap wood.)

There will be some trial-and error involved, you will probably have to cut a tad "big", then trim down carefully, an edge at a time, until it fits perfect. Once it's all looking perfect, some RTV silicone will glue it to the front edge of the sled quite nicely, however you should try to do it with the sled removed from the dash so you don't get glue on the dash.

Sorry, but for some reason I can't connect to the riocar site. So here it is as an attachment.
