A while back, I remember seeing a web page where a guy had done some high-rez 3D animations using Tux, the Linux mascot. I seem to recall that one of them had Tux walking on the beach, for example. I remember these animations pretty distinctly because the Tux model he used was very authentic-looking with respect to the actual Linux mascot logo.

I can't find the web page any more, but I'm interested in using that mesh if it's available. Does anyone remember the page I'm talking about and can help me find it again?

Nailed it. Thanks.

This BBS is amazing. You know, based on the amount of time I spent banging on Google trying to find this site, I'm wondering if I'm better off just asking the BBS for all my links. Get quicker results that way.

I posted that site a while back. Just did a search for "3d tux" on this bbs and found my old post pretty fast...

I didn't realize the BBS was where I'd originally gotten the link from, otherwise I would have searched the BBS isntead of google. Thanks.

Well, I was up to about 215 a year ago. I'm down to about 180-185 now, with a final target of about 170.

To be fair to Google, searching for 3d tux returns the "correct" site as the second item in the results.

I tried about a thousand permutations of TUX, 3D, LINUX, PENGUIN, ANIMATION, MOVIE, MESH, and BEACH. It always seemed to return a bunch of links about 3D rendering software running under Linux. But the combination "3D TUX" was not one of the permutations I thought to try.

Okay, here's a COMPLETELY UNRELATED question that I just happen to be posting in the same thread.

The "www.povray.org" site is down, and I need to get a 3.5x version of PovRay. The ftp.povray.org site is up but it only contains 3.1x of PovRay.

Anyone know where else I can get a PovRay 3.5x binary for Windows? All the pages in the Google results seem to point back to povray.org, which is down at the moment.

No, you aren't, I'm afraid. I'm just playing with a 3D rendering package at the current time.
