When listening to music in the car with b7 ... cycling through the info views, the player reboots, when it comes back up it's in that info-seek view ...

Can we get a better description of what this info seek thingy does?

The first time I cycled through the visuals, my Rio rebooted it seems fine now. Here's what the new seek tool is! From the release notes!

New info mode - Seek Tool. The first time a track is played through
a profile is created, and then saved for future playback. The profile
is intended to identify phrases within the track, with active sections
plotted with bright pixels and less active sections with dim pixels. Note
that the plot will be dynamic until it has been completed, as each section
is relative to the rest of the track.

Within the Seek Tool the controls act as follows:
Left : skip to the previous phrase
Right : skip to the next phrase
Left-Hold : skip to the next track
Right-Hold : skip to the previous track
Rotary : seek within the track (press to change volume etc)

In other words, it gives you:

1. Identification of phrases (or at least differing elements) within the track
2. The ability to skip between phrases very quickly
3. The ability to quickly scan within a track using the rotary control
4. Visual queues for the above using the phrase plot
5. A visual representation of the track to help you select (and learn more about) your music
6. A more accurate timecode

From a comment made on the alpha list I got the impression that the "phrases" are delineated by changes in the volume of the song. Could be mistaken, though, don't take this as gospel truth!

Rob I *love* the seek info mode but I think it should be de-coupled from the UI change of re-defining the knob's actions. See this for my justification and a possible method of doing this.

Also, I think the little blinkie light thing should be available in all modes as a separate toggle, maybe at the very top or bottom line so it's out of the way of the visuals and such.
