Well I just installed 2.0b7 the new blinking track position light is cool. .And the dancing people are neat :)

Anyway why aren't he # plays updated? I'm playing a album normally, I don't have repeat or shuttle on.

I think there has been a change, the # of plays seems to be being incremented after the track has finished playing now, rather than after 5 seconds of the start of the track as it did before.

Update:

I just checked again. The 5 second rule still applies, but the "Plays:" on the track info screen doesn't get updated until you play the track again.

There is still a bug here. Even though the 5 sec rule works and you can leave the song and come back to see the play count change, it only works one time.

Example:

play 5 secs of song.
hit the back and start again for 5 secs.
hit back again and play for 5 secs.
change songs and come back to original song. Play count only increments 1 instead of 3.

And why is that bad? If you only play 5 seconds and keep pressing the back button, IMO your play counter should read 0.

If you let the song play long enough, go to the next song, and then play that same song again, it will update. I have a track that I played multiple times today while doing some testing. It's reading 3.

I'd still like the factor changed to a percentage rather than 5 seconds. And I'd still like to be able to remove the play count display. :)

Actually, the 5 sec was just to demonstrate the bug. There have been many times that I have pressed the back button to hear a song a gain when I was getting to the end. If its a really good song, I might listen to it 2 or 3 times without turning on the repeat. I would like to see it count a song as played when you listen to it > 50%.

Is there any easy way to reset all my played times across the board? After adding and subtract/shuffling songs I want them all to be reset from time to time so when shufling they ALL get shuffled. I know I can change the shuffle type but I like playing least played but doing that after adding new songs those are teh only songs I hear for several days till they all catch up to the 20+ times played the rest have.

Looking at this, I'm going to have to say a me too, even though the least number of plays shuffle in b7 is not as biased on the number of plays...I've just recently put in a few new albums, and it's pulling tracks that have a few plays along with the new ones.

That does sound like a problem then. Hopefully they'll revist the play counter and eliminate all the problems in one shot.
