I just listed my Rio Car 20GB player on eBay. It's brand new. Just got it from SonicBlue today.

Believe it or not, this was a spontaneous buy that I did on Dec. 26. I tried cancelling the order over the phone with SonicBlue, but it already shipped before they could cancel the transaction.

I don't believe it. If it was a spontaneous buy that you're trying to dump, then why a reserve price higher than you paid? Yeah right. "buy it now for $650"

It's true. I ordered it on Dec. 26 and didn't realize that I'd have to buy an ampliier, get rid of my existing head unit (which doesn't have any inputs) and pay for installation. I called SonicBlue customer service on Dec.27, Dec. 28 and Jan. 2. They even sent me an email saying the order had been cancelled, but the warehouse still overnighted me the Rio Car unit.

Looks like SonicBlue couldn't fulfill some of the orders that were placed, and fulfilled some of the orders that were cancelled --- including mine.

The above is true -- I swear to God!

As for marking up the 20GB unit, my reserve price is $599. The "Buy It Now" price is $650 for people who don't want to bother with bidding for the item.

If you look at the completed eBay sales for the Rio Car, several people have paid $499 for a 10GB unit. I figure why not make a little extra money, and if the unit doesn't sell . . . I'll have it installed sometime this Spring.

In addition, I am selling a 20GB unit and the only one listed on eBay. The unit originally sold at $1,349 so $599 or $650 is still a good deal ---- especiallly for a brand new unit that is very difficult to find.

Stop stealing bandwidth from Sonic Blue. List your auctions with pictures YOU host yourself. Don't believe this is a violation? One email message and any auctions you have listed will be pulled the same day by eBay.

Same goes for stealing copyrighted text.

Noted as to the pictures, I do not have any auctions listed at this time. As to copyrighted text, it has been changed from its original form and is unlikely any copyright violation. I'll look into it, thanks for you kind advice.

Just not a good place(here on the BBS) to advertise Empegs for sale on Ebay. Most people that would have bought one at the lower price didn't get the chance and here you all are rubbing it in there faces.

There has never been a problem in the past with putting links to ebay here in the forum. I don't see any reason that should change.

I hope they'll sit on them forever. There are guys outside the US that can't get their hands on one and these sharks on ebay make a big profit on them. Makes me want to puke.
What's even worse is that they don't even admit it and start making up pathetic stories.
