What happened to the players allocated to Car Toys? Did they sell out, or is that another route for people to grab a unit?

They have probably sold out their own inventory. Grapevine has it that they did reorder many months back, but the quantities are unknown to me. The products they initially purchased were inventoried at CT's various locations. You might find one around somewhere, but I wouldn't suggest holding your breath--oh, and they probably want at least $699 for them if not more... but then my info is over six months old... Wouldn't hurt to look/call around.

Actually, some do. I went down to my local Car Toys in Dallas, TX today to put a down payment on the sound system installation I'll be getting for my Empeg (if it ships), and out of fun asked if they had any in stock.

They said they had quite a few in stock, the 10GB at $999. I spent some time talking to them about installation proceedures, quizzing them to see if they knew their stuff (and would properly take care of my baby). They seemed very knowledgable.

I just confirmed via one of the local stores that they have stock of all 4 sizes of players. And the prices are still $999 for 10gb, and $2199 for the 60gb...

The inventory check was on all stores.
