Will the empeg be able to record to MP3 from either the radio or external input?
I suppose this will need an onboard ADC and that the empeg has the processing power to do this on the fly in real time?
Any ideas anyone, good idea or not?

Radio: no, as the sampling rate is incompatible with the digital input (DSP does this at 38kHz). Line-ins is a "maybe". We've not tried, but in theory it's possible.

As for real-time compression - no, there's not enough CPU power.

I was wondering about the Line in option.
With 4 gig of space, I'm not bothered about compression. With raw audio you'd still get longer recording time than a minidisc, or Dat..

I was thinking of this a few days ago. Right before I got onto the Autobahn, I heared the Trafic report on the radio, but as allways I could not hear it as fast as they talked the stuff down. A nice feature (for version 2.0) might be a record button that plays the last 15 seconds!

More importen wout be an option to record TA (Trafick Anaunsment)
and have the posibility to heare them later.
Fx like blaupunkt (TIM), it records TA while in standby mode and when turnd on it plays them back.
