My Empeg kicks ass. But I do miss talk radio on the rides home. 

I understand the difficulties in building an FM tuner on top of a noisy CPU but
as it is the radio seems a waste of space, the Empeg is unable to pick up any
of the stations programmed into my old player and I don't expect s/w changes to
corrct this.

I'm considering tucking the old radio in the truck on one channel and using it
as my AUX unit.

We'll shortly be sending all the buyers of the empeg an antenna amplifier, which does help a lot with the radio sensitivity - hopefully we should get them out this week.

Software changes will improve the multipath (ie, crackles when moving) behaviour of the tuner, as there are a lot of setup values to be tweaked in the DSP.

Hugo, I assume you mean that you'll send the amplifier in the installation kit for all new shipments and to all the happy ones who would love to get their radio reception to MP3 quality.

1) Any idea when you'll be sending?
2) Can I seal up the installation once the antenna amp is installed (bend the notches of the mounting cage into place??

Yes, we will be. Problem is, we're still waiting for the rest of our order of antenna amps to be delivered. They're 2 weeks late currently :(

You should be able to seal up the installation, yes. In fact, I "unseal" mine from time to time to play with things, the tabs can cope with being bent/unbent a couple of times as it *is* 1mm stainless :)

The antenna amplifiers arrived yesterday (I hope.. haven't opened the box yet to check if they got the order right) :-)

We're going to be a bit busy for a couple of days as we're fitting out another floor here for order fulfilment, but I would hope that all of the amps will go out early next week at the latest.
