The buttons on future units should be back, or periphery, illuminated as they are almost invisible in the dark.

I think the subdued buttons are superb! With their simple diamond pattern, I don't look for them... I just operate them by touch. This feature also keeps passengers from adjusting my carefully thought out playlists
