Hi All,

I just recieved my empeg in the fire sale, and as a result do not have a tuner ( and will not pay $300 on eBay ). So I purchased a new Kenwood x817 head unit to serve as a tuner....I'd rather have only the empeg, but I listen to the radio a lot in the car, so I need one.

My question is, how will the remote(s) function with both units installed? As I understand it, the empeg will recieve signals from the Kenwood remote, and the remote that came with the empeg is inherently a Kenwood unit. Is this a moot point since one unit will just be getting piped into the AUX-IN of the other, so even if both volumes are being changed, only the amplified unit will be affected?

Also, the Kenwood head unit is still unopened, so I can return it and get something else if you folks think that's a better idea. I had originally planned on hooking it up to a legacy cd-changer, but have changed my mind on that idea.

TIA,

Will

In the Emplode properties you can disable the Empeg from receiving the Kenwood signals.

the RioCar can respond to the kenwood remote (and as robricc pointed out, it can be disabled) but the RioCar's remote sends different signals.
