It would be nice to have the times played to wait longer than 5 seconds for it to up the count. 30 seconds would be a lot nicer because 5 seconds isn't enought time to skip the song. Maybe have it as an option in emplode for anyone to change to whatever length they want.

Varying opinions on this issue discussed in this thread from a couple months ago.

I agree that it's too short. tms13's original suggestion of 1/4 of the song determines skipped, 3/4 of the song determines played is the best suggestion I've seen. Nobody from Empeg has dared respond, so I am assuming consideration of this one will have to wait until 2.0 final is out.

And 1/2 would be... ??

Okay I guess I didn't state it as succinctly as Toby did...

If you skip the track before 1/4 is played, the "skipped" counter would go up.

If you listen to a song past the 3/4 mark, the "played" counter would go up.

So in your scenario, playing half the song would mean it wasn't skipped, nor was it played... Which kinda makes sense in an odd sort of way. If you only listen to half of a song, you didn't exactly listen to it, nor did you skip it... The exact percentages don't matter, the fact is that they should be based on a percentage of the song, and not a hard-coded 5 second timer.
