Hi,

The car has a Philips "Carin" navigation system as standard and the Empeg integrates just great with Aux-In, providing voice-over navigation!

I cheated with the install, I didn't need any extra cables and I didn't need to slice into my car wiring, instead I done the following .....

I spliced the supplied ISO connector onto the wiring on the back of the emped docking station, so it acted as an IN/OUT for power purposes, then I just re-routed the ISO from the radio through the player!

IDEA: maybe the docking station could have had both Male/Female ISO connectors, that way it could easilly be connected into most cars without the need for extra wires!

I'll try put some pictures and stuff up on a website real soon,

If anyone wants advice on installing into a 3000GT then I'll be pleased to help:

Cheers,

[email protected] !!!!!

This weekend, should be installing an 800 Watt Amp system!

The biggest challenge is going to be fitting the speakers in the very space limited boot area!

Might have to get a custom speaker box made up to hold a pair of decent 12" subs!

If anyone has got any ideas I'd be pleased to hear!

Cheers,

Mark.

Wow! The first person I know of to install an Empeg in a Stealth/3000GT!

How did you mount the cage to the car?

Really Easy,

Pop the active aero button out with a credit card.

Pop the stereo out.

Carefully remove the faceplate that sits in the centre console, it litireally pulls out once you've done the above!

Unscrew four screws holding the radio holder bracket to the dashboard and pull the whole unit away, it makes it easy to work on.

Affix the empeg mounting bracket to the mounting plan, plug in the ISO standard wiring, and just re-assemble!

You only need a screwdriver to do the job, but a credit card and a small electrical screwdriver do help!

Job should take less than an hour to totally complete!

If you want some pictures or need to know any more, please don't hesitate to ask!

Mark.

I would love to see some pics. I attempted the install in my Stealth, and had a wicked time trying to get the empeg installed.

I am really interested in this portion of your email:
"Affix the empeg mounting bracket to the mounting plan..."

Any pics of this would be greatly appreciated!

No problems mate, if we have some nice weather here this week I'll get the old digital camera out and take it apart, taking some photos, then put it back, again taking photos, and send them to you.

Cheers,
