With 2.0b11, I sometimes see a W next to the HD icon. There was no mention of this in the release notes. What does it mean? Also, when I choose quit from the menu, I can turn the player on again until I cycle power. Is this the way it's supposed to work?

Thanks

The hard disk icons are documented in the FAQ, here.

"Quit" does not normally appear on the player's menu by default. It is only useful for software developers. Do not activate it unless you have knowledge of the player's internals and you know how to use it.

I'm going to submit a feature request to the alpha list related to the quit menu option now.

That they remove it from the "configure player" screen in emplode, so that the average consumer doesn't activate it and then come here asking why it doesn't do anything.

"Doesn't do anything"? It's the most self-explanatory item on the whole menu!
