Im trying to upgrade my mark2 from b7 to b11 by serial. it goes through everything fine and then it says finding pump device and site there forever. then it gives me an error that bad pump or something. i even tried manually restarting it during that stage but nothing. can someone give me emplode beta 7 so i can flash with that and then upgrade again. i dont want to go back to 1.03 becuase then ill lose all my marked files and how many times i listen to each track right? or am i wrong? any help?!?! thanks

The "pump" error is in the FAQ (do a search on "pump").

Common reasons for a pump error are: Corrupted file (grab it with GetRight instead of your Web browser next time), or possibly a the hard disk cable problem.

Re downloaded emplode and beta 11. Im using the same cord i have been using on all the updates since the very begining of time. the more detail thing is that it says "selecting pump device," and it sits there and then gives the error "bad pump response occured during stage 0x25" . I was not referring to the serial cable. I was referring to the hard disk cable that internally connects the hard disk drive to the player.

on my computer? or on my player? becuase i can change my logo through the serial.

is there suppose to show the screen when connected to the home ac adapter mode. becuase nothing comes up but the flashing light. it works fine in my car though

and changing the logo has nothing to do with it because it is not stored on the harddrive, it is in the flash.

is this bad? unable to mount? so how i repair my broken cable? ive installed new logos and hijack. does this matter?

You have a faulty drive cable contact support and I'll replace it. However, the line 'Could not find CS4231A (version=80)' means you also have a faulty chip on the mainboad. I'll need to bring your player in for service.
