I was wondering if anyone had a copy of the original website. You know... The one with pics of partly assembled MK1 prototypes strewn across pages and pages of schematics. Actually, putting those old pics up on RioCar.org is probably good enough.

If anyone has the old site archived, I would be more than happy to host it.

There's some archived bits in the wayback machine. Not sure if anything is useful though.

I don't have the very first empeg site (which Hugo designed) but I do have an archive of the second (vFive) site. I thought I'd put it back online for a short while, for nostalgia purposes..

http://www.empeg.com/original_site/

It's a bit broken here and there. Please don't use the email or survey links!

You may be interested to see what we eventually did with Jack, the first empeg prototype shown in that photo..

Rob, thanks for the pics. I remember there being more pics of jack than that one. When I saw the ones with the PWEI CD as a reference, it all clicked. These are what I have been missing. Thanks.

Hey, I remember how infuriating that original site was, as I went to it every few days only to find it exactly the same... just waiting for the next newsletter to arrive to announce the production release! ;-)

Hell yeah. It was such a thrill to see a new newsletter pop up, until you saw that they were only up to a few hundred or so in the queue. But that was the way the site looked when I bought my Mk2.

Hugo's mp3mobile was really inspiring though. Kinda funny how the page is still there, frozen in time.

Now, I had made my first research for a car mp3 player at the time of that website, and never clearly remembered whether I actually found anything about the empeg. Now I know: I DID! It was it! I was on THAT website! See, I was planning to change car, so did not bother to actually buy any car stereo at all at the time. And decided to go back to my research later, which I did, finding the latest www.empeg.com website with MK2 and all the rest... Now, this is just to say that I am proud to be one of those pioneers who actually know empeg since its first versions (ok, I didn't even remember , but I mean, now I know for sure!)
