I'm finally done hooking up my Nokia 5190 to my car, so now I have speakerphone in the car, and it didn't cost me a dime I just hacked the little mic/earpiece thingy that comes with the cell phone, spliced it to RCAs -> aux input, and it's all set and sounds. The only problem is that I can't figure out how to get a mute signal sent to the empeg, but that's no big deal, because I'll simply hijack the knob press to switch between aux and mp3. I'll have to hit one more button when I make a call, but no big deal.
I'm happy... gonna go play with it some more...

Just a little update, hijack works great with it. Now, if I press the knob, it switches to auxillary and patches the cell thru, then another knob press will go back to the player.... thanks Mark for hijack, wouldn't have been able to do this without it

What did you use as the mic so that it works from a distance?

Well it's mounted right above my left shoulder, about maybe a foot away from my mouth, and it sounds fine from what people tell me.. the only problem is a bit of feedback, which isn't noticed at all when I have it completely rear-faded.... question, are settings saved for each, like will the auxillary always be rear-faded and not affect the player's fade settings?

While I am yet to figure out the nokia signal & hook it up to my empeg (tried it once with no good result), this sounds like a good solution.
Is it possible to have Hijack perform functions, such as switch to aux, when the mute line is activated?

I What part of 'no' don't you understand?
Is it the 'N', or the 'Zero'?

Yeah it's possible to have hijack do that, although I couldn't figure out how and even if the nokia sends out a mute signal.
Anyway, I figured out how to do the fading to the rear when someone calls in, so it does it thru hijack. Thank god for hijack, but it would be nice if the empeg remembered your settings for aux, player, and tuner.... just my 2 cents.

Loren,
Have you considered using the extmute option to automatically switch to aux when the playstation switches on? :-) And automatically back to music when the playstation turns off?
