Sorry I could not find much that helps me out in the FAQ. Unless I am totally blind.

I'm trying 2 connect using my USB. Emplode does not see the Rio Car. I have had this problem B 4. I would remedy it by unplugging and re-plugging in the USB connections. Eventually XP would see the Rio Car. But it did not work this time. Y not?

BTW, I'm using V 1.03.

Please help. Thanks so very much.

The USB driver is simply buggy on XP. This is a known bug. Until the empeg guys get the driver fixed, there is little you can do about it.

In the meantime, the work-around is to use ethernet instead of USB.

I'm a dunce! I would not know an Ethernet connection from a ground wire. Doh!

It's the small square hole in the back of the Rio Car. That's the Ethernet connection, right? God, I should take a class on electronics.

It's the squareish/rectangular hole with 8 thin contact pins at the bottom. Looks like a larger version of the connector that you can find on most any phone today (normally with 4 connectors).

Looking at the rear of the empeg, from left to right, the connectors are:
power, usb, ethernet, serial, left and right RCA (and the car docking connector at the top right). On my empegs the connectors are all labeled, aren't yours?

Also, if you plug your empeg directly into the network card of your computer, ie not to a hub, you need a crossover ethernet cable. If you do plug it into a hub or switch, you need a straight ethernet cable instead.
