My friend's Mark 1 has music coming out of it, but the power light is still blinking while the music is playing and has no visuals. Any assistance of what the problem might be? Thanks in advance.

Bad display, plugged-in-wrong display connector, and/or blown fuse. Contact support.

I'd be interested in buying it if he decides it's not cost effective to ship it to the UK for repair.

If it's due to a known problem on the Mark 1 unit, I believe empeg will cover it even outside the warranty. Thats what I remember from mine doing this a long time ago anyhow, so don't take this as fact.
