I recently purchased a laptop, and there is no regular serial port on the back, only two USB ports. I really need to use a serial port w/ a Com port 1-4, also good for debugging the empeg output on boot up. Does anybody know where I might find a USB to Serial comm port converter that would work under windows xp? Any other suggestions?

There is one right here, but proceed with caution. Some devices require an actual legacy serial port. I think the empeg is one of them (I may be getting confused with another Rio product).

EDIT: I got FAQ'd. Tony says USB to serial is okay. Go for it!

The FAQ states that these USB-to-serial converters will, in fact, work with the empeg car player.
