I have a Empeg MarkII an old one.. it has worked with out a hitch for over a year, I desides to update the Software last night to 2.07b and now its a flakey HUnk of junk it locks up if I try to switch songs or shuffle or do anything really..

this happens in both car and home.. I reinstalled the Version of 1.03 Software and is still locking up.

Purchased as a 12G unit, I added a second drive and its been fine till when I upgraded the software.

I have tried removing the second drive and using the drive that came with the unit I can get it to play about 1/2 of a song before it lockes up. Or I can switch songs and on about the third switch it locks

I also noticed that I get this error using Emplod " The Download Process failed during stage 6 file not found error 0xfffffffe"

Use something like getright to get the 2.0b11 software and try another upgrade.
It is quite possible that your .upgrade file is corrupted.

thank you for the info... I have tried all 3 images now on 2 different computers and I am still having the same Issue... I do not think its a bad download...

Try a ram test - I think the instructions are in the FAQ. Do it with the unit warm. Some Mk2s (not mk2a rio branded players) have a flakey ram chip which only shows up when the unit is warm.
