i just got my Rio Car and it is working pefect at home. but it is not working in my car. it is dead in the car. does anybody know this problem?

We need more info. Has it ever worked in the car? Is it powering up but no audio? details details

wow that was fast!!! thx it is brand new. it is completly dead in the car, nothing happend in the car. no power at all in the car. i checked all the connetions five times. i run the latest firm and software (betas). and it is working in home-mode if i have a plug in the powerconnetion on the Rio. strange!!!

Did you check the wires on the harness to see if you pulled any out during the install?

Do you have power going to the docking connector? Your wiring in the car is correct? Did it ever work, or was it working there before and doesn't anymore?

i just checked the harness it is ok. and i do have power on the connectors. i did not run in the car (dead) it is just running at home!

i've had to contact them twice, once for each of my players. Neither time did the answer take more than a single digit number of hours; In neither case was trans-Atlantic shipping not the dominating factor in what was involved. If you want "forever" I can tell you what computer vendors not to deal with, but this is definitely not one of those cases.

Knowing nothing about your abilities or your install this suggestion may not apply. Have you checked your ground connection? You do have power on both power leads, right? You've checked them with a meter, using the ground wire as the common? I was caught on this when I installed my unit in my CRX. It worked fine until I turned on the lights and then it stopped. I had used the dimmer wire from the car as my ground. It showed ground until the lights turned on but then it went high. If you have another sled or it is easy to remove it from your ride you might want to put it on a table and twist the two power leads together, then connect it to 12 volts through the harness to bench test it. Actually you could do this in the car as well. This would at least confirm where the problem is at. Hope this helps. Good Luck

Ahh... now it makes sense... That's why we need all the info that you can give. VW's have 2 wires crossed. It has happened to quite a few people!
