Neon smoke-colored maybe?!?

I do have a thick version of the Smoke plastic that I could do a custom lens for you similar to the colored lenses but I don't think it will have an effect like the Neons.

Any reason it won't have that edge effect if it's cut the same way? I figured the effect was a result of the way it was cut/shaped rather than the color...

It's a function of both the way I machine it and the color of the plastic.
And unfortunately I don't have Brian's hack on my Empeg so I can't test it out either.

The Neon colors are very bright plastic. When you look at them face on they don't even look like the color they are. The Neon Red looks pink and the Neon Green looks yellow/green. The Neon Orange is the only one so far that looks like the color it is.

Would the thick smoke lense put out a light shadow effect? Almost like an embossed filter on an image file?

The neon-edge effect is specifically because of fluorescent material embedded in the plastic. The Smoke lens has no fluorescent material in it, hence no neon effect.

Note that there are already other lenses at his site which are cut the same way as the neon lenses. All of the lenses pictured there except Smoke and Clear are edge-cut, yet only a few of them exhibit the neon effect because they are the only ones that use fluorescent plastic.

If I'm understanding what you mean correctly then no.
The effect we're talking about is similar to what a small neon tube wrapped around the opening of the display would look like.

hey steve, from my understanding your gettting the gels from rick, how much are they going to be? and will u have most of the colors in that swatch book?

I think you mean Bastard Amber. Yes, that color is included.

I bought every one he has.

I don't know on the pricing yet. I have to do some testing with the sheets that I have so far. i.e. cutting, mounting, etc.

I've got around a week until the rest of the colors come in.

When I'm ready with a finished product I will post and update on my website with an announcement.

Lately lenses haven't been that great, that's why I ordered all of them, because I intend on selling them premounted on lenses so 1-I can keep the lenses going and 2-there will be no difficulties installing.
They will be in the same price range as the lenses.
