Hi - I see release 2 Beta 11 is out, but the none Beta release is still at 1.03, when is release 2 full flavour going to be released?

How much of a risk is Beta software? Is it really going to eat all my music or will it be more like running Windows full release software?

I have no problems with the beta software. In fact I think it works better than 1.03.

Way better than windows full release. I don't think empeg will release a new full vertion until it's rock solid stable. Besides you're missing out on a ton of great features. I'd highly recomand reading the FAQ in full as well, I think this question is addressed.

There are a few major bugs in 2.0 beta 11. One of the bugs is fixed by Hijack, so install that. The other really big bug is in the FAQ and it's related to the Favorite Visuals list. Beyond that, you should be OK with 2.0.

Remember if you have trouble with the beta, you can always downgrade to 1.03.

I too am running the beta with very good results. I recommend installing it, along with Hijack. If you dont like it you have the option of going back to the full release. Funny how computers can do that, huh! My old car stereo system couldn't do that.

I don't even look at it as beta - as it is bloody stable anyway. Less crashes than my work PC running windows.

Just treat it as an ongoing, always developing product with a multitude of incremental releases (mostly Hijack) and the occasional more major release.

Not bad for an EOL'd product

I have been running beta 11 as long as it has been out and it has never once eaten any of my music, although once or twice I saw it looking at the music with a hungry look.

Seriously, the difference between 1.03 and 2.0Beta 11 with Hijack is kind of like the difference between Pong and Playstation II.

Once you upgrade you will wonder why you did not do it sooner.
