Hi, people.
Just a quick note to say I'm currently three-fifths of the way through uploading the finished PaulWay Antipodean "Captain Cook" mix. You can find the page with links to all of my mixes, and the bits of the Captain Cook and the new Laidoutback mixes, courtesy of Synergy here:
http://paulway.d0gz.net
As usual, email me at [email protected] with suggestions, criticisms, offers of more bandwidth, or if you'd like to pay me to send you two CD-ROMs with all the mixes to date on it.
Have fun,
Paul

Hi, always nice to see new material from you!
Unfortunately I can't download neither the Antipodean "Captain Cook" Mix nor the Transcriptions Fast Trance mix. I can download all the files that have no spaces in the names, but these two files gives 403 - Forbidden or 404 - Page not found errors...
I've tried replacing the spaces in the links with %20, but no luck...
Any chance you could change the names to exclude spaces and/or look over the file permissions?
/Michael

The "Captain Cook" mix is not yet fully uploaded. As I only have a 56Kb modem (connecting at 46.6Kb) this will take a couple more hours... :-)
The Fast Trance mix I can't figure out - it's not a naming problem. I'll email Synergy (although if he happens to be reading this...)
I'll let everyone know here when the Captain Cook is unpacked and ready to download. This was just a sort of warning :-)
Have fun,
Paul

The fact that you're uploading those hundreds-of-megs mixes with an ordinary modem just boggles my mind.

Just wondering, what kind of software are you using to make your mixes? Acid?

Actually, it was a naming problem. But I've renamed the file to be what your Html is looking for now...
Everyone give it a shot (as I run to update MRTG to watch the bandwidth flow... )

Me too. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why he couldn't upload stuff.... until I realized it was going so slow, all of the scripts were timeing out before it completed.
The CD wouldn't be a bad idea, but it only takes me a minute to unrar 900 2meg files..
Now... Back to trying to figure out why my receiver works at home, but doesn't work at work. This is really starting to irritate me, which only means that NOTHING else gets done until I've figured it out. Not a good habit anymore, I'm afraid.

Is the Captain Cook mix up there yet? I can't get it to DL. Great mixes BTW, I really enjoy them. Thanks for sharing!

How I make mixes:
Cubic Carrot Software's Beat Counter to work out the BPM of each song.
Syntrillum's Cool Edit Pro to do the multi-track editing, time stretching and phase effects.
Lots of patience and time.
A good selection of music (>300 CDs) (note: this is not enough).
And, yes, Tony is right. In fact, if you email me your name and address I'll send you a CD with all the mixes I can fit on it. If you feel like it you can donate money to me via PayPal. (not sure how to include a link for it, though).
Have fun,
Paul

Yes, finally it's all together and ready for download.
I've now got ADSL, so I'll be uploading the partially completed Laidoutback Mix in the next couple of days...
Enjoy,
Paul

Yes, I'm afraid it's the thread that doesn't die...
I've finished uploading the currently completed portion of the PaulWay Antipodean "Laidoutback" Mix - 2:38:40 so far. Should be another hour or two to go...
Go. Download. Enjoy. Email me.

Paul,
The laidback mix downloads ok, but the antipodean mix reports file not found.
Any chance of a URL fix?

Geez people...
Tell me when something isn't working, will ya?
It's fixed now, but I'm not telling anyone until my T3 comes back online.... forcing 6mbs that fit easily on a bursted T3 into a single T1 sucks ass.
[Edit: Opps. Well, I guess I did tell... But I'll ask nicely not to hammer it for an hour or two (hopefully) )

Heh, like I said I had just finally remembered to grab the new mixes to add to the empeg. With my motorcycle now, my empeg in the car barley gets any use.

Ok, if you somehow chopped this file to 2:38:40, it didn't work right. Both the empeg and Winamp keep playing beyond that, but say the length is 2:38:40. "Fixing" it with the VBR fix results in no change to the file, and MP3 tag studio converts it into a 2:38:40 song with static for the last 2-3 minutes.
And excellent job so far on it, the opening is well done to pull me into listening to it for a while.
