Never Randomize Playlist

This was discussed a little while ago here, but I never saw an official Wish List request.
So, I'd like to see an option for Never Randomize Playlist. I have certain playlists (mostly DJ mixes) that I don't want randomized. So, if I happen to have the Shuffle mode on when I select this playlist, it will play that playlist in the proper order.
We should also implement the other suggestions in the thread regarding sub-playlists.

Yeah, I would love to see this one as well - I think it'd be more useful than the 'Always Randomise' setting that we have now.

There's a flag in the "options" tag that's described as "treat playlist as one" which doesn't currently seem to be used, but might be appropriate to this. Perhaps the intention of that flag was to not allow selection of individual children, perhaps to never randomise?

That flag was actually visible in old version of Emplode, and was removed in more recent versions of emplode. I think it's because they chose not to implement the feature.
I wish they would implement it, too.

Add my voice to the list - with usually always defaulting to Shuffle mode on, when I go to play my Pink Floyd albums, "THe Wall" just dosn't sound the same when you play Part #3 before #1, then jump to the opening. :>

Of course, remember that anyone who wishes to force an album like "The Wall" or "Dark Side of the Moon" to always behave as one track can simply rip the thing as one track. Or combine the tracks all together with a simple "copy /b track01+track02+track03 album.mp3" statement.

Greetings!
True, but if you only had time for track2, or wanted to only play it, you could not.
Ideally, instead of a never randomize, I would like to have a chaining feature, where track1 would have a value you could set in the track's metadata so that track2 would always be played after it. That way, even randomized, if track1 came up, track2 would always follow it. The songs would still be independent, so you would see the correct title and could play / list / program them independently if desired, but would maintain a linkage for randomization.
Example songs this might be useful for could be:
Pink Floyd: Brain Damage -> Eclipse (assuming you are heathen enough not to listen to the whole album...)
Queen: We Will Rock You -> We Are The Champions
Led Zeppelin: Heartbreaker -> Living Loving Maid
Phish: The Horse -> Silent In The Morning
The Beatles: side 2 of Abbey Road
etc.

Interesting idea! I didn't even think of that.
When I worked in commercial radio, the on-air software my station used had exactly this feature. (For playing some Pink Floy songs, or the Beatles' "Sgt Pepper / A Day In The Life" and others..)
Something like that COULD come in handy.. A simple integer flag, which the # entered woulf be the FID of the next song to play..
Me.

Not to beat a dead horse to.. uh.. death, or something like that, but while at work, I thought of a change that would be freakin' great. Fix this problem, and add a little more functionality.. Add a flag to playlists, something like "Treat as one". When checked, everything IN the playlist is treated like one song. For example, my database has 4 songs, like so:
Main Playlist
- Song 1
- Song 1
- Sub Playlist
- Song 3
- Song 4
Norrmally, if I have shuffle on, and play everything, my order could be something like:
Song 3, Song 2, Song 1, Song 4.
But, say I have the flag checked, and the 'randomize' flag off. I could get the order something like:
Song 2, Song 1, [Sub Playlist] (where Sub-playlist would be Song 3, Song 4 respectivly.
That way, I could have a "PInk Floyd - The Wall", set my Shuffle mode to random, it will go thru all my songs, and once the "Pink Floyd" playlist comes up, it will "treat" all the songs contained inb it as one ;block', playing thru them all..
Just a thought.. :>
Me.

In older versions of emplode, there actually was a "treat as one" flag in the playlist properties box. Never got implemented in the player software.

This would be ENORMOUSLY huge.
I have been pondering that since the day I got my player.
Just can't seem to figure a way to do it.
arrghh, I hate reading the wish list forum, it always leads to dissapointment.
I *wish* I had the skill to implement this stuff. No, I take that back...
I wish I had an empeg programmer at my disposable.
One who answered my every whim with exactly what I want.
aw well.
I mean disposal, sorry.

One who didn't mind being referred to as "disposable"?
