I might (have to) sell my Empeg mk2(a?) 20GB blue -version with the external RDS AM/FM tuner module.
Also included are at least:
- the in-car / boat etc. installation sled
- 2x remote controls (one original and one Rio-tagged)
- a carry case
- an extra blue lens (the aftermarket one from the BBS)
- an unused RioCar T-shirt (too big for me:))
- the AC adapter
- USB and Serial -cables
..plus anything else that I might have but do not remember right now.
I'm asking a rather outrageous (?) price of 1300 euros of the whole package (will be sent in the original Empeg-box).
The player has been used in my Golf V6, but I'm selling it away and my next car seems not to have room for the Empeg . Anyhow, please don't be offended of the price, it's high (even though the purchase price was more than double). It is not an option for me to sell it any cheaper atm.

Come on guys, I'm surprised this hasn't been snapped up for the carry-bag alone!
Seriously though... I'd change my car before I sold my empeg! Or at least pay someone large amounts of money to modify the car interior so it *did* fit.

Blatantly ripped this from another thread, but this bumps my 4sale -thread up in the 'queue' nicely, so:
- - - - -
I know it feels like much. However, yes, at least this player is in Europe!
Actually, I got interested in how much I actually paid for the device myself. So, I swept my old bills and finally found a receipt of 12.510,38 FIM billed by EMPEG LTD (1285,16 GBP) from my VISA. Now that is exactly 2104,09 Euros (1 Euro equals 5.94573 FIMs).
Since then I have bought the tuner module (I have a receipt of 129 GBP for that) and some other 'mods' for the gadget (such as a blue lens from Drkstorm). So compared to that, the 1100 Euros price I'm asking isn't that horrible...just only if they had never sold Empegs so much cheaper at some point, heh.
..and the carry case is black, with a hollow-white-outline 'empeg' text!

You're quite right. FIM is the Finnish Markka, which is the late currency of Finland. Now we have Euros.

Yeah, same over here in Belgium. While I was all pro-Euro beforehand I'm having my doubts about it now. It's been almost seven months now, and I'm still not used to the new currency.
Paying with it is no problem, but the sense of the value of things is gone. This is especially problematics with larger Euro amounts (say 30 euros and up)
I'm getting tired of having to multiply every big amount by fourty. Beforehand, I thought It would only take me a couple of months to get used to. Guess not. Ugh.
I'm beginning to think the Brits were right about waiting to jump into the big (sinking?) boat that is Euro.

I was thinking about not selling the equipment a bit later, but now it's back for sale, for good.
The above Empeg, price is now 950 euros + shipping fees, you choose method. That's right. Tuner etc. included. I also accept PAYPAL.

(not that I know anything about it, but...) Euros are America's way of keeping the rest of the world down. Why else would 1 Euro almost = 1 US Dollar. I think the Euro is just another way to strip countries of their national identity. It's sad, in my opinion.

I don't think America had too much input on the Euro..
Maybe it's a shame to see national currencies disappear, but the Euro is SO convenient when travelling in Europe! If only we could use them in the UK!
Can you imagine having to carry different currency for every state in the USA?

The Euro truly rocks. I enjoyed using the currency SO much the past summer when I was spending a month in southern Europe. Actually, we didn't stay in Denmark on the way back because we didn't care to change the currency to non-Euros.
Of course there's always credit cards, but somehow the use of Euros felt thrilling. I trust it unites the Europeans more..

Cool, well if it is uniting Europe, then that's cool. There is, of course, my whacked far-out tie of the Euro to Revelations in the bible, but I won't get into that.

Actually, we did have different currency for every state before the "American Rebellion" or whatever you guys call our war for independence. I'm not exactly sure at what point the state currencies dissolved in favor of national common currencies though. I know there were multiple kinds of currency in the US until the Civil War era (in the 1860s also called the "War of Southern Independence" or the "War of Northern Agression" in the South)
Then again...with a common language and government, I imagine it was quite a bit easier for us to switch to a common currency.

my whacked far-out tie of the Euro to Revelations I don't know how serious you are about that (I gather not too), but I've always found it annoying/funny/sad that so many Bible-thumpers (not necessarily claiming that you are one) are unable to comprehend that the name of that book of the Bible is ``Revelation'', and not ``Revelations''.

No the number of the noun, revelation, is apparent in the text, with no really serious textual variants. Although you can find someone that will argue almost anything....

Exactly. And it's usually someone who hasn't bothered reading more than 10% of it.

"Exactly. And it's usually someone who hasn't bothered reading more than 10% of it."
Which is the reason they don't realize it's only a single revelation.

...and a rather long one at that. My revelations are normally quite short, like the one where I'm lying in bed after a night out, and I suddenly realise that the last beer wasn't such a good idea. Or the one where I wake up and realise that it's trash day and I forgot to put the trash out.
It's about time I had a meaningful revelation..

Haha, I honestly have no idea what I'm talking about and have only ever read a few pages of Relelation_. Some day I'll go out and get the material and smarts necessary to back up all my crazy ideas.
Rev, I repent! Can I get a wittness! UH!!!
