how about using the PDA to pull a shell up on your rio while its running (via infared). i think it would open up a whole range of neat features.

It's possible to do IrDA on the Empeg, instructions are here. Using the "consumer IR" (remote control) will likely disrupt the IR link, though.

Also, the speed isnt' phenomenal, I think i'ts limited to 115200 or so.

I wanted to try it, but it fell to the bottom of my list at some point.
