The resolution of LCDs is getting to the point that it's quite hard to see dead pixels. The 1600x1200 panel in my Dell laptop has such tiny subpixels that I can't actually see the stuck on/off ones at all unless I run specific apps to help detect dead pixels.

Dead pixels on a 1280x1024 19" LCD are probably quite visible however. LCD yields have gotten quite high now due to improved technology so chance are that there really aren't any dead pixels on those 19.
